Andi Weigand - Chardonnay 2019 - Germany - Tarte Tatin & Mountain Streams - 750ml Bottle

Weingut Weigand's first Chardonnay ever. The vines grow in a very special and unique location in Iphofen, the Sparrnbach, on particularly poor soil. They can be described as Weingut Weigand's monopollage as they are the only ones allowed to grow vines there. They recultivated this beautiful location 4 years ago. The soil is very stony and a mixture of shell limestone and keuper. Pressed on the classic basket press and fermented in small barrels. Aging for almost 2 years on the whole lees. Still so young, but already so deep and sublime, without losing in frankness. Reminiscent of buttery Tarte Tatin, the finale is a mineral mountain stream in the Alps. A feast for body and soul. Treat yourself!
