Regular price £3.60
For many Forchheimers, the Annafest is the absolute highlight in the calendar of events. A whopping 23 beer cellars in the region open their doors for a major event that attracts countless visitors every year. Moody music is played on seven stages and the 65 showmen offer a wide range of entertainment for young and old. Under the shady oak trees in the Kellerwald you can enjoy the tasty beer of the region and fortify yourself with specialties from the Franconian cuisine. The first Annafest took place in 1840 and the event has grown in popularity ever since.
In addition to all the attractions, the folk festival delivers one thing in particular: an abundance of fresh, cool beer. Fifteen local breweries contribute their hoppy creations and often even brew their own festival beer especially for the occasion. Among these breweries is of course the Forchheimer Greif Bräu. Every year in July, the traditional brewery brings out an Annafest beer, which is made according to a family recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation.
The bottom-fermented beer is brewed seasonally and has a pleasant 5.5 vol. % into the glass. Its harmonious malt character flatters the palate with a full-bodied palette of roasted and caramel notes, a strong spiciness and hints of toasted nuts and tart hops perfect the aroma.
