The winery is a family run estate situated in Gols, Burgenland in north east Austria and consists of 15 hectares of biodynamically tended vines, most of which are situated at the Wagram of the Parndorfer Platte, generally considered to be the best site in the region. The estate is run by Judith Beck who inherited the business from her father after having trained at Cos d'Estournel in France and Errazuriz in Chile. The grapes benefit from the proximity of Lake Neusiedi which acts as a natural storage heater, storing the warmth of the sunshine during the day and releasing it through the night. 'Ink' is a blend of 90% Zweigelt and 10% Saint Laurent and is fermented in stainless steel before being aged in wooden casks for 12 months.

A dark ruby with a violet rim. On the nose, scents of sour cherry, sweet spices, cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, light and refreshing with soft tannins and an elegant spiciness leading to a juicy finish. Try with duck terrine, wild boar stew or slow roasted shoulder of pork.
