Intensely aromatic wine with an abundance of aromas giving you a big kiss on your nose, a bit of lychee, ripe grape (yes sometimes wine smells like grapes) and a light floral note. It really is a beguiling wine. You would normally look to pay much more for this much complexity.
Joseph Mitjans made his first 1000 bottles of sparkling wine at just 16 years old, he was never going to be anything else but a winemaker. After studying as an enologist Josep decided it was time to step into the running of the family estate. In 1987, he registered the Loxarel brand which shines a light on the grape variety that means so much to the family: Xarel.lo. Now firmly along the path of biodynamic viticulture, the estate makes some wonderful wines that maintain and look after the grape varieties that have been grown in Penedes for hundreds of years.
