Metic - Carmenère 2020 - Medium Red with Spicy notes - Chile

Regular price £10.99

Tax included.

Textbook Carmenère with a splash of Petit Verdot, Metic reunites Bordeaux’s forgotten grapes to dazzling effect in Chile. This mysterious wine is crafted by a duo who scour the Chilean countryside hunting for top plots of sustainably farmed old vines. Unfortunately, because they consult for many of Chile’s most recognisable wineries, we’ve been sworn to secrecy. But rest assured you are in very, very safe hands.

Handpicked from sustainably grown 30-year-old vines, the grapes are fermented with wild yeast to really highlight this wonderful terroir, and it’s then matured in concrete tanks so as not to mask all the glorious fruit with oak. Bottled without fining, making it suitable for vegans, Metic is ripe, dark and dangerously easy to drink. The notes of dried herbs and mint in this Carmenère make it a wonderful match to roast lamb, but it’s equally as comfortable alongside spicy empanadas, tacos doused in chipotle or sourdough pizza.
